Dr. Boyd Whaley, M.Div., Ph.D., L.M.F.T
Boyd Whaley earned a B.A. in Psychology from Emory College (1974) and a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology (1977). He was ordained an Elder in Full Connection in the North Georgia Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church in 1977. Dr. Whaley earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Hebrew Bible from Emory University (1989). He trained as a therapist at Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences, Inc., where he served as Director of Pastoral Care from 1981 to 1991. Dr. Whaley became a State of Georgia licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 1988. From 1991 to 2007 he served as pastor of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Norcross. He became the Executive Director of the North Georgia Family Counseling Centers in 2007.
